I read that when Van Morrison first went solo, his label Bang Records issued his debut without his knowledge and marketed it as psychadelic rock. This made Van pretty sore and eager to leave the label. He got Warner Bros. Records to buy out his contract but he still owed Bang 31 songs. But looking over the agreement, he found nothing saying the songs had to be good. So one day, he went into the studio and pounded out 31 songs all in one session, improvising nonsense lyrics and often completing each in one take. Thus assuring Bang had nothing useful with what he produced, essentially a middle finger to the label. This is one of those songs.
